Our Diving

"Quality, not quantity" is a phrase that sums up our diving

Sublyme Divers do not have any fixed diving plans. We aim to dive what ever we feel like doing next depending on the capabilities or desires of our members, the weather conditions and tides.

We do not limit ourselves to Lyme Bay but like to travel further afield on a regular basis. Equally happy on wrecks or reefs, in 20m or 45m, in day or night, Sublyme Divers would like to feel that they cover all types of diving.

From simple local wrecks like the Baggi, Heroine or St Dunstan, to more adventurous ones in Lyme Bay such as the Salsette and Pommeranian, we will dive them all. this year we will be doing quite a bit to the western side of Lyme Bay. Further afield, Plymouth, Lundy, Cornwall, Pembrokeshire and France are all on our agenda as and when we feel like doing them.

There is not much point listing all the dive sites we have done or intend to do, it sort of reeks of being a prat and just collecting names. All we say is if you are diving with us and want to dive something particular we will try to make it happen.

Why not check out the images in our photo gallery to see the sort of thing you are missing.

CLUB EQUIPMENT

We have just bought a 18" dory that is just fine for diving from as long as the seas aren't too rough. It has a very smooth 75hp Mariner, 'A' frame, an echo sounder has been fitted and a Simrad fixed VHF has appeared as well. We also have GPS, oxygen and a few other bits and pieces to keep us alive. All in all, not particuarly beautiful but it works and it is ours.

Each member is responsible for his or her own kit, which varies from simple single 12lt set-ups to twinsets, conventional air and nitrox. We all dive in drysuits for most of the year. As yet, none of us are into extended range trimix diving or rebreathers but you never know. Generally we all have just about everything by way of dive kit to cope with just about any situation.

We also own between us water skis, fishing lines, cool boxes, portable BBQ's and other bits and pieces that make the diving experience a more enjoyable one all round. Plus loads of charts, dive books etc, and about 12 years back copies of Diver, Scuba World etc - Quite usefull in an anorak kind of way.

Of course we do also have the 'SUBLYME DIVING' T shirts, sweat shirts & rugger shirts with the sublyme definition on the back. In a tasty deep blue with light grey print uncannily matching this website, they can be yours for a small parting of hard earnt cash. Prices are as set out below depending on who you are. Contact us for all orders so we can rip you off on some P&P as well.
