A conger looks out from
his hiding hole in a reef. Although not agressive they will go for
a moving object assuming it is food, their eyesight is not good
and are attracted to movement, so don't go waving a hand in front
of them or you might regret it. |
A
John Dory, which are quite often seen in Lyme Bay |

A cuttlefish
on the Branscombe reef, an easy shoredive just 50m from the beach
in about 12m of water. Lots of life and colour can be found on this
shallow reef. Do watch entry & exit as the pebble shore steeply
drops away on all but low tides and a slight swell can make it quite
difficult to struggle out again. |
| A diver
on the second Branscombe reef, this one about 500 m off shore so
really a bit of a boat dive. |

A corkwing
wrasse showing that we also have brightly coloured stunning looking
fish here in Lyme Bay, and that they are not only found in tropical
seas. |
| A diver
looking at a boring sponge, I need to find out from Peter if that
is its real name or it is just plain boring |

These
are breadcrumb sponges |
A
dogfish having his mugshot taken. These are really common around
here and very easily approached and caught. |

This is a male
cuckoo wrass, again a stunning looking fish, his wife is not quite
so attractive, more of a dull brown. |
